Privacy categories detected
The checker scans for 12 categories of privacy-sensitive information using pattern matching. High-risk items include email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers, physical addresses, financial data, medical information and authentication credentials.
Medium-risk items include personal names, IP addresses and dates of birth. Low-risk items include URLs that may reveal browsing habits or internal resources.
Each finding includes a risk level, the matched text, and a description of why it matters. You can filter by category, switch between original and redacted views, and export the results.
How detection works
Pattern matching + risk classification
Each category uses a regular expression pattern tuned for common formats. Matches are classified by risk level based on how directly the information can be used for identity verification, fraud or unwanted contact.
This is a screening tool, not a complete privacy audit. It catches common patterns but may miss obfuscated data, unusual formats, or context-dependent information. Always review sensitive documents manually before sharing.

No. All analysis happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is never uploaded, stored or shared.
What types of information can it detect?
It detects email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers, URLs, IP addresses, dates of birth, financial information, medical information, and authentication credentials.
Can it redact sensitive information?
Yes. After analysis, you can switch to Redacted view to see your text with all detected sensitive information replaced by block characters, and copy or download the redacted version.
Is this the same as removing metadata from images?
