Privacy policy
Effective 17 August 2026. Daily Utility Lab is designed to work without an account and to keep calculator activity on your device wherever possible.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Daily Utility Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use dailyutilitylab.com and its tools. For a privacy question or request, contact us at info@dailyutilitylab.com.
Information you enter into tools
Calculator and checker inputs are processed in your browser. The current site does not require an account, submit calculator inputs to a Daily Utility Lab server, or maintain a user database for those inputs. Please do not place sensitive personal information into a tool or a share link.
Share links
Some calculators can place non-sensitive input values in a share URL so another person can reproduce an estimate. We do not create a server-side copy. Anyone who receives the URL may read its parameters, and URLs can remain in browser history, messages or service logs, so do not put sensitive information in them.
Cookies and analytics
Daily Utility Lab is a static site: calculator inputs stay in your browser and are not sent to us. The cookies this site can set are listed below.
Essential
daily_utility_lab_consent— stores your banner choice (“accepted” or “rejected”) for up to one year so the banner respects your decision and does not keep reappearing. First-party cookie, set only when you click a banner button.
Analytics (optional)
We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate site use and on-page interactions. The Google tag is present on every page and runs in consent mode: before you choose, analytics storage is denied and no analytics cookie is set. Analytics cookies are enabled only if you select “Accept cookies” in the banner; Clarity loads only then as well. If you select “Reject” or do not interact with the banner, analytics storage stays denied for the whole visit.
- Google Analytics:
_gaand_ga_<id>— first-party cookies that distinguish users (around 400 days to 2 years). Google may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, and usage data under its own privacy policy. - Microsoft Clarity:
_clck,_clsk,CLID, andMUID— session and behavior cookies (hours to about a year).
This site runs no advertising: ad, ad user data, and ad personalization storage remain denied even after you accept. The site does not set application cookies for accounts, preferences, or calculator inputs, and it does not record calculator inputs in analytics. Local storage used for the theme preference is browser storage, not a cookie.
If we change how analytics works, we will update this policy before or when the change takes effect and provide any notice or choice required for that change.
Technical information and service providers
Like any website, the infrastructure that delivers the site may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, date and time, and security information so it can deliver and protect the service. Daily Utility Lab does not use that information to build advertising profiles or track calculator inputs. The hosting provider’s handling of its infrastructure logs is governed by its own terms and privacy documentation.
How information is shared
We do not sell calculator inputs. We do not disclose them because they are not sent to us through the current tools. Information may be processed by infrastructure providers as needed to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the website, or when disclosure is required by applicable law.
Retention and security
A shared calculator link remains usable while it contains valid parameters; it is not stored by Daily Utility Lab as a saved result. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so use sensible care when sharing links or emailing us.
Your choices and requests
If you email us, you may ask about the information you provided in that email or raise a privacy concern. We will respond to legitimate requests in accordance with applicable law. We may need enough information to understand and verify the request; we cannot retrieve tool inputs that were never sent to us.
Children
The site is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required for online services in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the tools. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us so we can review the request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or its data practices change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. Continued use after an update means you should review the revised policy.
